Tickets now on sale for ‘Old Time Radio Theatre’

-

Tickets are now on sale for the Hot Springs Village Players’ production of “Old Time Radio Theatre.”

The show takes audiences back to those great days of classic comedy, with the likes of Abbott and Costello and others, a news release said.

Directed by Glenn Calloway and produced by Larry Venable, Old Time Radio Theatre will run March 22-24 at Coronado Center, and March 2931 at the Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theatre.

For the opening night special on March 22 at the Coronado Center, tickets will only be $15. General admission the other two nights is $20.

Tickets are available by calling 501-922-4231; at the Ponce de Leon Center, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays; or online at http://www.HSVTicketSales. com for the Coronado Center shows.

Call 501-318-1600 to purchase tickets for the Bathhouse Dinner Theatre shows, and for pricing, which includes dinner.

“Old Time Radio Theatre” includes classics like “Who’s on First” with Abbott and Costello, “Station KUKU,” “The Bickersons” and “My Friend Irma” — creatively staged within a set, designed by Michael Valdstein, to look like a radio from the 1930s, the release said.

“Old-time commercials and music set the tone for a laugh-a-minute soiree into the past that’s just plain fun. As always the production will showcase homegrown talent, with a 20-member cast and 20-member crew,” it said.

The cast features well-known local actors including Patsy Slezak, Herm Dobscha, Michelle Crandell, Bill Lamoureux, Maureen Morgan, Roger Cannell, Bob Benke, Mark and Janis Bremer, Lori McGhee and Chuck Miller.

This “lighthearted frolic reminiscent of times when everyone gathered around the radio for a little silliness all wrapped up in a feel-good eve- ning of entertainment,” the release said.

The Players is a nonprofit organization, and has presented 141 productions to the residents of Hot Springs Village and the outlying communities since 1978.
