Byron Cole Rhodes Family Foundation
The Byron Cole Rhodes Family Foundation, founded in 1987, is a civic and charitable foundation that assists worthy civic and charitable endeavors in Hot Springs and Garland County.
Its motto is “Hope for Tomorrow — Action Today!”
The officers are Bryon Cole Rhodes, president; Lellie-Beth Rhodes, secretary/treasurer; and Johnathan Rhodes, B.C. “Dusty” Rhodes, Amanda Rhodes, Parker Rhodes and Sophia Rhodes, directors.
The foundation meets at 1 p.m. on the first Tuesday of March, September and November, unless otherwise scheduled, at The Rhodes Family Enterprises Building, 444 W. Grand Ave. Call Byron Cole Rhodes, 501-625-3444, for information.
Hot Springs Emblem Club No. 194
Hot Springs Emblem Club No. 194 is a charitable organization founded in 1950. The purpose of the organization is to perform charitable acts in the community, states and nation; unite all Emblem Clubs in a closer bond while furthering good fellowship among the members; promote and protect the interest of clubs; to bear true allegiance to the Constitution and flag of the United States of America and assist the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America. The motto is “Truth, Justice and Charity is the guide in all club work.”
Some of its charitable programs are scholarships, Americanism, veterans, literacy, drug awareness, The Caring Place, Arkansas Human Development, Cooperative Christian Ministries and Clinic, First Step School, Jackson House, Ouachita Children’s Center, Relay For Life and Humane Society of Garland County.
Executive officers for 2019 are Beverly Goodridge, president; Jackie Brown, junior past president; and Corrie Serrett, vice president.
Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at Elks Lodge No. 380, 132 Abbott Place.
