Hot Springs Arts and Crafts Fair

-

The Hot Springs Arts and Crafts Fair Committee is busy planning the fair’s 51st year. New Chairman Jane Oliver and her committee will once again organize and run the fair Oct. 4-6.

The country store, a favorite, is all Extension Homemakers crafts and will be located in Building 5.

All areas are usually full, and there is also a place where the crafters can part their campers and stay.

Special areas for children with bouncy houses and other fun games will be located at the front of the grounds. At other end, there will be pony rides and a petting zoo.

The air-conditioned ENC Kitchen will serve handmade foods — oatmeal and chocolate cake, chicken salad, bean and cornbread dinners, chili, doughnuts, burgers, and hot dogs.

Many crafts will include handmade furniture, jewelry, clothing, ceramics, doll clothes, stuffed animals, baskets, pottery, candles, frames, photography, quilts, wall hangings, monogrammed towels, gourds, hair bows, toys, pet clothes, and lots more.

We have golf taxis for our customers that will oick you up in the parking are and take you to the shopping area, and also help you get purchases back to your car. There is also handicap parking.

We have great food on the grounds, including funnel cakes, roasted corn, barbecue, cajan food, roasted nuts, kettle corn, Texas twisters, and more.

We are located at Garland County Fairgrounds, 4831 Malvern Road. Parking is free and there is no admission. Come out and spend the day. There is something for everyone. It is a good time to start holiday shopping. The show will be held Friday, Oct. 4, and Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 6, noon to 5 p.m. We hope to see you there.
