Third Thursday to feature Red Oak Ruse

-

Side Hustle Productions and The Big Chill will present Red Oak Ruse for the Third Thursday Concert Series at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The series is sponsored in part by Workman Consulting and The Mojo Box & Lost Highway radio shows on KUHS Community Radio. The concert series raised money for the Unknown Legends Musicians Relief Fund, a nonprofit for Arkansas-based musicians with health care related needs.

Red Oak Ruse, based in Eureka Springs, is three down-toearth Ozark gentlemen passionately creating songs of any and all forms of American music, melding it all together to forge a sweet and powerful sound they refer to as Ozarkana, a news release said. Michael Schembre, who also plays for Opal Agafia & The Sweet Nothings, holds the band together with his fiddle and guitar playing and vocals. Jonathan Hagood plays bass and guitar as well as sings and Justin Easter plays guitar and sings.

“The energy, vocals and instrumental talent that these three possess is absolutely intoxicating” one of their fans said in the release.

Opening the show will be Ben “Swamp Donkey” Brenner from Little Rock, delivering his style of Delta blues, telling stories about the real world and how to get “donkey” about it.

Admission is $10 for general seating or $15 for reserved seating. Call David Hughes at 850774-2270 for more information.
