- STEVEN MROSS

A Jessieville man was arrested on a felony warrant Tuesday afternoon stemming from allegations he twice broke into a Mountain Pine residence where he used to live.

Aaron Jonathan Pardue, 32, who lists a Walter Adams Trail address, was taken into custody around 2:45 p.m. and charged with residential burglary, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Pardue was being held on $5,000 bond and was set to appear Wednesday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on July 6, Mountain Pine police officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue regarding a burglary that had already occurred. They spoke to the couple who owned the home who stated they had purchased the house two weeks earlier.

They stated someone had kicked in their door on or around July 4 and they suspected Pardue was involved because he had been living there before the house was sold to them.

The owners also stated someone had made entry into the home on July 5 while they were away by breaking into a window air conditioning unit on the side of the house. A witness, 27, told the couple he saw Pardue come out of the window with some items and get into an older model red SUV earlier that day.

Officers had made contact with Pardue a few days earlier in the 2800 block of Mountain Pine Road and he was driving a vehicle matching that description at that time.

The female owner also noted she had come home on July 6 and found Pardue standing in the middle of her driveway and she had to ask him to move away because she was trying to park.

The officers noted the front door lock had been fixed and there was still a shoe or boot print left on the door. They also saw where the air conditioning unit had been removed to make entry.

A Bluetooth speaker belonging to the couple’s daughter, valued at $40, was reportedly missing. The report did not indicate anything else that was missing. A warrant for Pardue’s arrest was issued on July 10.
