A local woman on probation was arrested on a felony possession charge after Hot Springs police reportedly found a large quantity of meth hidden on her person after a traffic stop Monday night.

Jessica Neal Dye, 35, who lists a Garland Avenue address, was taken into custody shortly after 10 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance, meth, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Dye, who was also cited for careless and prohibited driving and driving on a suspended driver’s license, remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $5,000 bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 10 p.m., Hot Springs police officer Richard Davis made a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Cruize after seeing the vehicle travel through a private drive between Linwood and Murry Street.

He made contact with the driver, identified as Dye, and a computer check showed her license was suspended and she was on active supervision probation with a search waiver on file. She was asked to step out of the vehicle so a search could be conducted.

Sgt. LeeAnn Zaner had arrived to assist and conducted the search of her person, noting Dye was “acting jittery” and evasive when she began the search. She noted Dye was wearing a dress with “tight cloth shorts” underneath and noted a large bulge below her waist near her privates.

Zaner searched closer and determined there was a plastic bag hidden in Dye’s privates which she was able to remove. The bag was found to contain 49 grams of what later tested positive for meth.

Dye had pleaded guilty on May 9, 2016, in Garland County Circuit Court to felony counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons and possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to three years in prison on each count, to run concurrent.
