Edna Stachey, age 86, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019.

She was born on Oct. 30,

1932, near the Chidester community of Ouachita County, the daughter of Barney Hodge and Lola Moore Hodge. On March

7, 1954, she was married to William A. “Bill” Stachey who preceded her in death on March

17, 2006.

Edna received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas and worked many years in health care. She retired after 33 years with the Veterans Administra­tion where she specialize­d in home health care. A Christian of deep faith, she was long-time member of the Central Assembly/National Park Assembly of God Church. Edna loved her church, her faith, and her family. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and getting together with her sisters, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Merry Stachey, of Hot Springs; her grandsons, Logan, Blake and Chase; two sisters, Mildred Claypoole, of Camden, and Marilyn Li, of Rocky River, Ohio; and her nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Pastor Matt Scully officiatin­g.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Reed Cemetery at Story.

Pallbearer­s will be Chase Stachey, Logan Stachey, Blake Stachey, Gary George, Jeremy George and Keith Everett.
