Village Chorale Christmas concert Dec. 10 at Woodlands Auditorium
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Village Chorale will hold its annual Christmas Concert at the Woodlands Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.
The Chorale director, Thomas Bolton, has announced that the title of the concert will be “Sounds of the Season,” and the audience “will truly hear many of the musical sounds of this festive season. The style of music will vary from light classical to pop. You will hear some new compositions as well as brand new arrangements of familiar carols,” a news release said.
“As always, the Chorale augments the piano sounds of our wonderful accompanist, Kristen LaMadrid, with a variety of instrumentalists. In this concert we will use a string quartet, soprano and tenor sax, flute, string bass and percussion to help produce the audience-pleasing music that you have come to enjoy from the Chorale,” the release said.
The Chorale’s mission is “Connecting Community to the Choral Art.”
“There is no better way of doing this than offering our community the opportunity to hear outstanding choral music performed with excellence at one of our concerts. And a Chorale concert is always a multimedia experience to help bring you along with the music,” the release said.
The Chorale is an auditioned mixed choral ensemble of around 35 singers. Many of the members are retired or active career music professionals who “have devoted their lives to making beautiful music. We have been performing to local audiences for over 22 years.”
Tickets will be on sale soon at the events tab of http://www.explorethevillage.com, ReMax of Hot Springs Village, and individual Chorale singers.
