POWER RANKINGS
Breaking down the Big 12
1. Oklahoma:
Oklahoma receives its first true test of the season on Saturday when Lincoln Riley’s squad faces off with Texas.
2. Texas:
The Longhorns can erase the memory of the LSU loss and jump back into the College Football Playoff discussion with an upset win over Oklahoma.
3. Baylor:
So it is possible to win in Waco without breaking every rule and trading your soul to the devil? Someone go tell Art Briles.
4. Iowa State:
We all expected more from the Cyclones in 2019, but two one-possession losses to Iowa and Baylor dampened the outlook for Iowa State.
5. Texas Tech:
The Red Raiders looked like a dangerous and complete football team in the win over Oklahoma State. Quarterback Jett Duffey is a winner.
6. Oklahoma State:
Mike Gundy’s squad is always good for one dud in each conference campaign and Oklahoma State decided to lay its 2019 egg against Texas Tech.
7. TCU:
Does this feel like the end of Mack Brown’s era at Texas to anyone else? Gary Patterson’s program doesn’t look right. Finding a competent QB would help.
8. Kansas State:
Kansas State is on a two-game losing streak after starting the season undefeated with a win over Mississippi State.
9. West Virginia:
Oklahoma reject Austin Kendall threw four interceptions against Texas. Head coach Neal Brown is sticking by the transfer, for now.
10. Kansas:
Les Miles already fired his offensive coordinator if you’re wondering how things are going in Lawrence.
