Ruth “Joann” Marrall, age

85, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019.

She was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Thomas Rivers and Ruth Childress Rivers. On June 27,

1949, she married Arbie Lee Marrall Jr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2007. She was also preceded in death by one son, Tommy Marrall; three daughters, Debbie Marrall, Kim Alvarez and Carolyn Sue Marrall; one grandson, Justin Alvarez; her parents; two brothers, Curtis Rivers and Thomas Rivers; and one sister, Francis Wuneberger.

Joann was Baptist in faith. She loved her family with all of her heart and the little ones were the “apple of her eye.” Joann loved to eat at Taco Pronto, Outback Steakhouse and King Kone DriveIn with her family. She loved her treats, Hershey bars, olives and Dr. Peppers. Joann will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by three sons, Eddie Marrall, Carl (Dinah) Marrall and Tim Marrall, all of Hot Springs; one daughter, Barbara (John) Digby, of Pearcy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs, with the Rev. Brian Ferrell officiating.

Interment will be in Morning Star Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of The Pines Nursing and Rehab. The family would like to thank you for the special care that was shown to our mother.
