A care team you can count on

- Kelly Rice

There have been sleepless nights and long days as we have moved through the past week but the level of commitment and caring of our hospice team has been unprecedented!

Part of our routine is beginning our day with a “Team Huddle” call every morning at 8 a.m.

• Our team members know what is expected and are wearing masks whenever they undertake a community encounter.

• Our Comfort Care Center located in Little Rock went on lockdown last week and the 15 live-in team members are finishing their first week on-site. A fresh crew will soon take their place.

• We have successfully managed all meetings with physicians remotely this week.

• We have determined the risks and resources available to every patient to best care for them.

• We take inventory of all supplies daily and are moving them to where they are needed.

• We continue to assess the environment, team and best practices to best protect our patients.

• Across the organization, we have reached out to hundreds of patients, families, care team members in new, creative and resourceful ways this week.

• Our Clinical Response Center and Rapid Response team are doing an exceptional job of coordinating care around the clock every day.

• Patients have been overwhelmingly positive about the proactive approach to reaching out to make sure that we are providing all that they needed.

Our patients and families can count on frequent and consistent communication and encouragement from Hospice Home Care.

None of us would elect to be going through this viral pandemic. We are blessed to be a part of “A Care Team You Can Count On.”

We have more uncertain days ahead, but we are working through our priorities and preparing to emerge from isolation with new purpose and perspective.

May the Lord bless and keep you.

May He make His face to shine on you and bring you His peace.
