Where is it safe to get medical care?

Face it. It is inconvenie­nt to get medical care now. Even when clinics are open full-time again,

128 hours of every week are evening, night and weekend hours. There is a network to support the most vulnerable patients in palliative and hospice care.

Hospice Home Care operates a one-of-a-kind Clinical Response Center (call center) open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, quickly reacting to hospice patient, family and facility caregiver questions and care needs.

Clinical Response Specialist­s are registered nurses who answer calls, and when a hands-on approach can help, they deploy a Rapid Response Team member to make a house call. House calls are available at any time, day or night, weekend or holiday. This team of hospice profession­als works together to care for hospice patients across the state,” a news release said.

Communicat­ion is critical to this group, who find themselves on the front lines of the current

COVID-19 crisis.

“We have a plan,” says patient care representa­tive Christy White. HHC is known for being flexible and organizati­onally nimble enough to meet people wherever they call home to provide the care that’s needed.

“We are here and available to help, and we are praying for you,” she said.

“The Clinical Response Center is one way we can reassure families we are always nearby when they need assistance,” the release said.

Cathy Carollo, Chief Executive Officer assures families that Hospice Home Care is admitting hospice eligible patients to service, no matter their current COVID19 status. “We are providing for patient equipment needs and supplies. As always, our mission is to respond to and attend patients and families, HHC is care you can count on.”
