Man allegedly attacked, robbed by known suspect

A local man was reportedly assaulted and robbed by a known suspect while walking down the road Monday morning, according to a Garland County sheriff’s incident report released Tuesday.

The victim, 26, told investigators he had spent the night at his “soon-to-be” ex-wife’s residence on Cynthia Circle “to be around his kids.” When he got up Monday morning he saw his wife arguing with her boyfriend and decided to leave because the boyfriend, age not listed, was trying to get him to fight him.

He said he left the residence and began walking down Westpine Road toward Albert Pike when the boyfriend came up behind him and hit him in the back of the head with an unknown weapon.

The victim woke up on the ground and the boyfriend was gone. He noticed his jacket and some money were missing. He walked to the McDonald’s at 3101 Albert Pike and called for help.

Deputies noted the victim had a cut on the back of his head, a possibly broken collarbone, “strangulation marks” around his neck and an injury to his left hand. He was transported by LifeNet to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.

The incident was still under investigation Tuesday, but no arrest had been made yet.
