Spiritual healing

-

Dear editor:

Using the tired cliché, “I don’t have to be a rocket scientist to — ,” most anyone with any knowledge can see where this world is headed in light of what has been prophesied in the Bible about the “last days.” Old Testament prophets and Jesus Christ expounded on these events to prepare man for God’s coming judgments.

The disciples asked Jesus what signs were they to look for which would signal the end of all things and of His coming. He told them many would rise claiming to be the Christ (Matthew 24:5), nations would war against one another, earthquakes would occur in different places, famines and pestilences would happen, the saved would be hated and killed, and “the love of many will wax cold” (Matthew

24:6-12). Jesus added that there would come a horrendous tribulation such as the world has never seen. Author Hal Lindsey once said that it would be a time when streets would become rivers of blood.

Many today have chosen to forget or deny that God the Son is the Creator of all things in existence (Deuteronomy 10:14; John 1:1-5). God the Father put His plan of salvation for us into motion when He allowed His Son, Jesus, to die on a Roman cross as payment for our sins, but hearts have become calloused. He has given us many opportunities to repent and receive Jesus as Savior (Romans 10:9), and He deems it necessary to remind us through such judgments as the present global pandemic COVID-19. Egypt’s king experienced judgments when he refused to let God’s people leave the city (Exodus 7-12). Although most churches are refusing to hold worship services, I have yet to hear of religious leaders calling on Christians across our land to pray asking for God’s healing of nations (Ezekiel 47:12; 2 Chronicles 7:14; James 5:14-15). Jesus said we should always be praying (Luke 18:1). Pray not only for physical healing but for spiritual healing as well. A word to the wise: read Psalm

9:7; Acts 17:30; Romans 10:9-10, 13 before it’s too late! Donald Cunningham Hot Springs
