Morning cup of hate

- Larry Bauer Hot Springs Village

Dear editor:

I wonder what Casey, Noah and Jim have with their morning cup of hate? Casey’s point about golf carts for Secret Service agents is so petty and silly it’s not worth mentioning but any scrap of anti-Trump hysteria will do, I guess. What next Casey? Is Trump keeping a close eye on W.H. TP use in this time of scarcity? It’s especially trivial when you take into account Trump donates every penny of his salary, $100,000 a quarter, back to a government program, the latest to the COVID-19 fund.

Jim thinks Trump’s a politician and not a leader. I don’t think in my lifetime there’s ever been a president less a politician. He’s not always eloquent, he speaks off the cuff. He just tells you what he thinks and that is most un-politician like because most worry about every nuance of what they say. Bite your lip and say you feel their pain Bill, our focus groups say they love it when you throw that lip thing in. Sometimes I wish he wouldn’t do it, but that’s Trump and mostly it’s what we like — nothing phony about him.

Leadership … on Feb. 24, weeks after Trump stopped travel from China, Nancy invited everyone to come to Chinatown to eat drink and be merry, forget about that virus thing. This was of course because Trump called it the Chinese virus, what? We thought maybe it began in San Francisco’s Chinatown? As Rahm Emanuel said: Never let crises go to waste. Let me translate that: We have an opportunity to pack on the pork. Obama and Rahm wasted the stimulus money paying back cronies; that’s why those shovel ready jobs were never shovel ready.

After delaying the COVID-19 bill a week, Nancy and the Democrats packed it with things that had nothing to do with the virus. Twenty-five million dollars so the elitist in D.C. and their elitist Hollywood friends can all fly in for a night at the Kennedy Center telling each other how great they are, $75 million for PBS, money for the arts. Jim thinks this is leadership. We’re $22 trillion in debt and the Democrats’ priorities in the middle of this health crisis are the Kennedy Center, not the waitress that is out of work and needs to feed her kids.

Since before he even thought about running for president, Trump has been warning us about China. The whole trade talks have been because Trump wants to distance us from China whom we’ve become too dependent on for many basic goods including medicines, medical supplies and many other things that we need to manufacture here. His other priority, the border — don’t think the bad actors aren’t taking notice, besides the cartels and drugs, human trafficking we now know ISIS, Iran or a North Korea seeing the effects this pandemic caused, the collapse of our economy, the panic, the deaths, now more than ever we need to protect our borders from an attack of biological WMDs that would be easier under the Democrats if they tear down those walls.

You never know what you’ll get with that morning cup of hate but one thing they’ll never serve that’s the most important, the truth.
