A Mountain Pine woman was arrested Friday night on a felony assault charge after allegedly threatening to castrate her husband while armed with two knives.

Jennifer Lynne McGregor, 45, of 302 Sentinel Road, was taken into custody at her residence around 8:30 p.m. and charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member, punishable by up to six years in prison.

She remained in custody over the weekend in lieu of a $2,500 bond and was set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, Garland County sheriff’s Deputy Devyn Helms responded to the residence regarding a disorderly person and upon arrival made contact with the alleged victim, 49, who stated he and his wife, identified as McGregor, had been arguing.

He said he went outside to the garage and sat in a chair “to separate himself from the argument,” and McGregor came outside “with a knife in each hand” and was verbally threatening him as she came toward him.

He said she yelled she was “going to cut his (expletive) off” and told him, “If women were here, she would kill him in the middle of the night.” He noted she continued to hold the knives in her hands while making the threats.

The victim reportedly had a video of the incident and her making the threats and wanted to pursue charges, the affidavit states. Helms located McGregor inside the house and noted he found her on the sofa still holding a knife in each hand.

Helms yelled at her to drop the knives and she reportedly did before getting off the sofa and was taken into custody.

The victim’s recording was reportedly taken as evidence.
