Geneva R. James

Geneva Rene James transitioned to her heavenly home on July 25, 2020.

She was born to Walter Lee and Janice Isadore James on April 29, 1964, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La. She spent most of her days with significant other Rickey Jackson.

She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Lee James; her mother, Janice Isadore James; her grandparents, Geneva Crockett Isadore and Wilfred Isadore; her brothers, Walter Lee James, Jovansi Jones and Walter Jones; and four aunts and three uncles.

Geneva Rene was a woman of many talents, but invested many of her years at the Arlington Hotel and Spa. Most people would say that she was a little feisty firecracker. She was the life of every party and loved by her family and friends.

Geneva leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Steven James, Henry (Sonya) James, David James, Rickey James and Jayla (Larry) West; her grandchildren, Kayla Hill, Steven Pausey, Khaydinse Plummer, King David James, Harmoni West, and Haven West; her siblings, Chenita (Denis) Scott, Darren Scott, Denise Scott, Denis Scott, Denisha Scott, Azona James, Donell James, Darell James and Carnell Robinson, all of New Orleans, La; and her dear friend, Gerald Wilchie. She leaves a host of aunts, cousins, family and friends.

The visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at Carrigan Memorial chapel. The burial will follow immediately at Hollywood Cemetery.
