Knights of Columbus offers shopping times
The Knights of Columbus canceled both its April and October Charity Rummage Sales, at least with its ordinary “open-to-all status,” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Instead, the Knights of Columbus has been scheduling shopping appointments and will continue to do so from 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through October.
“As a result of very generous donations, we have the usual ‘ton’ of merchandise in three sale buildings, actually even more than usual,” a news release said.
“With three buildings open, we can accommodate as many as a dozen customers at a time, all wearing masks.”
To secure an appointment, call Jim Lockwood, 501-282-7027, or preferably message him through Facebook. Suggest a day and an hour between 9 a.m. and noon.
“For those who’ve never been to one of our sales, you will find lots of decorator items, jewelry, glassware (including sets of dishes, cookware, bedding (from sheets to blankets/comforters), fabrics and sewing items, Christmas and other holiday decorations, lots of luggage, books, framed art and picture frames, toys and games, electronics, tools and other garage items, furniture, and more,” the release said.
The Knights of Columbus continues to accept donations. Proceeds from all sales are distributed among local charities. As a result of diminished income due to the pandemic, the Knights of Columbus has had temporarily to donate only to local food-related charities, such as Jackson House and the Food Bank (Project HOPE). “Please help us to help others,” the release said.
