Operation Clean Sweep planned for North Patterson, West Grand
The city’s third Operation Clean Sweep of 2020, which begins Monday and runs through Oct. 23, will include about 500 structures in the areas from North Patterson to Mason streets and between West Grand Avenue and Albert Pike Road.
The operation is a threeweek, multi-departmental, concentrated cleanup effort in targeted areas, a news release said.
Starting Monday, and through the remainder of the week, two-person teams from the Hot Springs Planning and Development Department’s
Neighborhood Services Division will distribute information packets door to door. The packets contain information concerning various city services offered during and after Operation Clean Sweep, as well as a notice for properties identified as violating the city’s property maintenance ordinance.
From Oct. 12-16, the Solid Waste Department’s Clean, Attractive Property Service trucks will visit the neighborhoods daily, collecting items placed curbside by residents. The city’s street sweeper will travel through the area, and alternative service workers from Garland County District Court will augment the cleanup efforts.
From Oct. 19-23, Neighborhood Services inspectors will follow up on the violation notices issued during the first week and address any remaining violations. Hot Springs police will provide additional neighborhood patrols, targeting possible drug activity. Fire department personnel will address fire safety concerns identified during the sweep and Hot Springs Animal Services will assist with any animal issues arising from doorto-door visits and inspections.
