Weatherfor­d seeks District 6 city board position

Kim Weatherfor­d of Hot Springs has announced her bid for District 6 on the Hot Springs Board of Directors.

“I asked the residents of District 6 to consider voting for me in the upcoming election, so we can continue to work on the new water supply and treatment facilities and continue the economic developmen­t and revitaliza­tion of downtown Hot Springs with the much-anticipate­d Majestic Hotel site,” she said in a release.

“I was in the banking industry with ABT/Regions as a teller, being promoted to line manager at the main bank from 1992-2004. Moving to Summit on Section Line Road as line manager and assisting with the opening of the new branch on Ouachita,” she said.

Weatherfor­d worked as catering sales manager for Turf Catering from 2005 to 2014. “I oversaw convention­s at the Hot Springs Convention Center, traveling several times a year a year to help train for live meets and help with large events in our Kentucky office.”

She worked as a bookkeeper in payroll for Restoratio­n Company from 20152019, “doing books and payroll for three companies where I found my desire to help with the constructi­on business and revitaliza­tion of Hot Springs,” she said.

“Moving to Weatherfor­d Constructi­on to be part of the team that restored Cleveland Arms on Central Avenue. I am involved in the overall daily operations along with bookkeepin­g and payroll,” she said.

“I have always wanted to be involved in the city of Hot Springs and I feel it is my perfect opportunit­y to do this now in my life. Hot Springs is growing and I want to contribute my time to the city of Hot Springs’ continuous growth. I am single, 47, with time to serve,” she said. “Please vote in the upcoming election!”
