ROUND ROCK, Texas — Bobby Jean Hobby, age 92, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020.

She was born on Oct. 31, 1927, in Floranada, Fla., the daughter of Hosea Ballow Durdin and Bertha “Tiny” Opal Meekins Durdin. On Oct. 7, 1944, she married John Ross Hobby, who preceded her in death on July 17, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Jewel Lester Harris; one brother, David L. Harris; and one sister, Betty J. Lehmann.

Bobby attended the First Baptist Church in Pflugervil­le, Texas, and she loved attending the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hot Springs. She was an excellent artist, using charcoal, pastels and oils. Bobby loved sewing, crocheting, bird watching and she was well-read, loving books.

She attended school in Flora and Centralia, Ill. Bobby and John enjoyed many friends living in Tulsa, Okla., Victoria, Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Hot Springs, Ark. They also enjoyed taking vacations to Europe and traveling the United States, staying in Fredericks­burg, Texas, at times.

Bobby was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. She was so easy to love with her beautiful spirit. Bobby will be greatly missed and always loved.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, John Ross Hobby Jr. and Susan Hobby, and Danny and Twig Hobby; daughter, Cheryl Jean Winters; four grandchild­ren, Douglas E. Winters III, Tiffany K. Chartier, Jason Hobby and Mandy Moody; seven great-grandchild­ren, Holt Mica, Brighton Mica, Isabella Chartier, Cruise Hobby, Nireya Hobby, Tessa Moody and Max Moody; one sister and brother-in-law, Villa and Dick Sorrell; many nieces, nephews, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.

A private graveside service will be held in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
