The Entertainment Foundation’s first virtual ‘Fun’ draiser set for Oct. 23
The Entertainment Foundation’s first virtual “fun” draiser, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame!”, will begin at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 23 on Facebook Live and YouTube and conclude with the start of the 2020 World Series.
“For a $10 ticket fee purchased through our website, there’ll be baseball trivia, songs, fun, special guests, and even a presentation of Abbott and Costello’s wellknown skit ‘Who’s On First?’ Silent auction items will be available on which to bid via our Facebook page. It promises to be fun for all,” a news release said.
TEF Entertainer Ken Goodman will be the master of ceremonies with Doug Lackey on keyboard.
“The Entertainment Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization, provides interactive and engaging shows full of relatable music, storytelling, laughter, and dancing, presented by a professional entertainer, especially for audiences and individuals who are isolated or with little access to live entertainment,” the release said.
“You may know a veteran, senior adult, or vulnerable individual who resides at home alone or lives in a long-term care facility removed from the outside world,” Audrey Findlen, president of The Entertainment Foundation, said in the release. “Often, they live a mundane and monotonous life where darkness, depression, and isolation are realities. Ultimately they give up in despair, intensified by the pandemic. Those who attend our interactive and engaging shows feel valued and connected. They become the ‘stars,’ actively radiating light to outshine the dark clouds of loneliness and despondency by singing, sharing stories, laughing and dancing,” Findlen said.
