Drive-up testing for COVID-19 will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Hot Springs Farmers & Artisans Market, 121 Orange St. There will be no out-of-pocket cost for testing. Up to 200 community members will be tested, according to a news release from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

The testing will be conducted by UAMS in cooperation with the city of Hot Springs, Difference Makers of Hot Springs, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Bank of America Foundation. Flu vaccinations will also be available at the drive-up at no cost to the patient for those receiving a COVID-19 test.

“You do not have to be a UAMS patient to be seen. This testing is for everyone who feels

they need testing. Patients will get instructions on how to take care of themselves and their family at home. Test results will be returned either through an online patient portal, letter or phone call,” the release said.

“Even if you don’t have any symptoms, wash your hands regularly and practice social distancing by staying at least 6 feet away from other people not in your household, and wear a mask in public,” it said.

An online screening tool is available at uamshealth.com/healthnow. Phone screening is available through the UAMS Health hotline at 800632-4502.

“We saw another decrease in new cases yesterday, and I am hopeful that the cases will stay low through the week,” Hutchinson said in a news release on Monday. “I applaud our students and educators for reducing the active cases in our schools. Let’s stay vigilant, and while cases usually go up in the next four days, let’s remember that it is up to each of us to do our part to help slow this virus and protect ourselves, our family, and our neighbors.”
