Frances Louise “Fran” Harrell Brasseale Conville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020, at 79 years of age.

She was born in Baton Rouge, La., in 1941, where she grew up, attended LSU, and she and Claude Brasseale Jr. eloped to be married when she was 17 years old. She and Claude had four children: Kari Celeste, married to John Kenneth Morvant; Darryl Scott, married to Cheri Anne Greenfield; Eugene Claude, “Little Claude” died young; and Michael Eric, married to Valerie Jane La Paglia.

Frances and Claude had eventually moved to North Little Rock, Ark., after his graduation from LSU. They raised their three children in North Little Rock, where Fran was active in the community, worked as a florist and at the newly built Excelsior Hotel ( now the Little Rock Marriott) and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Frances and Claude were married 25 years and divorced.

Frances later married David Conville in a small chapel in Las Vegas. They lived in Hot Springs, where they enjoyed lake living, the horse racing track, fast cars and entertaini­ng at their home on Lake Hamilton. Fran and David built many long-lasting friendship­s in Hot Springs, along with two successful businesses: Preston Company, a manufactur­er of drywall clips, and later Baggo, an outdoor board game company. Frances had a group of her closest friends called the “Magnificen­t 7” and was a member of the 31 Club. She and David were also avid swing dancers, loved travel and taking cruises.

Frances was a much loved and delightful person to be around. She thrived on caring for others, cooking, gardening, her dogs and had an easygoing personalit­y. She lived a healthy and vibrant life.

Frances is survived by three of her children, nine grandchild­ren, Michelle Adrienne and John Ross Morvant, Kai Marley and Sati Song Brasseale, Greta Rose, Grant David and Kendra Jean Dean, Corinna Mishal and Jessica Rose Celoso; and one great- grandson, Theodore Ross “Teddy” Morvant. She is also survived by three stepchildr­en from her second marriage, Kristin Conville, Karin Conville and Kirk Conville.

She was predecease­d by her very young son, Eugene Claude Brasseale, her father, Guy Mills “Big Daddy” Harrell Jr., her mother, Frances Louise “Chick” Nunnery Harrell and her younger brother, Guy Mills Harrell III.

Due to COVID-19, a service will be held in the future when family and friends are able to gather safely to celebrate and honor Fran’s memory.
