Lady Eagles roll CMS on road

Cutter Morning Star competed, but Fountain Lake picked up the 58-22 win at Eagle Arena Tuesday. With only a 6-point edge at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Cobras broadened their lead to 31-13 at halftime. Fountain Lake held the Lady Eagles to just 1 point in the final period. Presley Hamric finished with 15 points, Karli Bryant tallied 14 points, Kara Martin came away with 11 points and Karlie Craver had 10 points. Fountain Lake hosts Magnet Cove Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Fountain Lake (VB) 50, Cutter Morning Star 23

The Cobras (5-1) and Eagles kicked off the game in a similar pace, the score knotted at 8-all heading into the second period before CMS fell behind for an 18-10 deficit at the break. The Eagles failed to find a rhythm for the remainder of the game as the Cobras surged ahead. Landin Kizer led Fountain Lake with 15 points while Sam Moore led CMS with 12 points.

Fountain Lake (JB) 29, Cutter Morning Star 14

The junior Eagles (3-2) struggled to find the rim, trailing 13-3 at intermissi­on and were unable to bounce back as the visitors outscored them 16-11 in the second half. Destyn Fields led the junior Cobras with 9 points and Garner Thornton tallied 4 points for CMS. The junior Cobras travel to Arkadelphi­a today.

Lakeside (JG) 37, Hope 19

HOPE — Amelia Rogers dominated the court with 22 points Monday as Lakeside (3-1) took home the 37-19 win. Rogers has averaged 23 points each game so far in the junior Lady Rams basketball season. Kaitlyn Huggins garnered 5 points, leading Lakeside’s defense while Kalyn Pickett stepped up at the beginning of the second half, knocking down two of Hope’s key jumpers. Molly Reeves added 3 points and nine rebounds. Lakeside will play next Thursday at Camden Fairview.
