Tips for residential garbage collection: What goes in and does not go in the waste receptacle?

Residential waste receptacles should only contain household solid waste, which is placed in plastic bags and sealed to prevent litter and to help keep receptacles clean.

Material such as grass clippings, leaves, tree trimmings, lumber, shingles, rocks, dirt and other household building debris should not be placed in the receptacle. These items will need to be collected by different Solid Waste crews.

• Yard waste will be collected on leaf and mulch collection days.

• Household building debris will be collected by calling Clean, Attractive Property Services, or C.A.P.S., at 321-6921 to schedule a pickup.

Other items, such as hot coals, car batteries or other hazardous chemicals could melt the receptacle or catch it on fire.

Department at 501-321-6911.
