The Solid Waste Department provides multiple methods of yard waste collection.

One method is by collecting brush through the Clean Attractive Property Service, or C.A.P.S., which provides services to city residents who wish to dispose of large bulky items such as couches, mattresses, furniture, brush and appliances including washers and dryers, refrigerators, freezers and water heaters. The brush cannot be mixed with trash, wood, paper, cans, bottles or wire. It also must be cut 6 feet in length or less, and cannot be larger than 24 inches in diameter.

The other method is through the leaf and mulch collection service, through which residents can place on the curbside up to 50 bags of leaves or small hedge trimmings, no longer than 3 feet in length and no larger than 3 inches in diameter.

Both services take the yard waste to the Hot Springs Compost Facility, located at 318 Davidson Drive, to be processed into compost.

For more information on compost, call the Compost Facility at 501-262-3572.
