Eighth-grade Wolves rout Bryant

Lake Hamilton’s eighth-grade boys took a 44-24 win over Bryant Monday night at home.

With the score tied at 6-all at the end of the first period, the eighth- grade Wolves went on an 11-0 run in the second to take a 17-6 lead into the break. Both teams added 10 in the third frame before Lake Hamilton put the game away with a 17-8 fourth.

LaBraun Christon led Lake Hamilton with 13 points. Cameron Hale added 10, Zane Pennington had 7, Cole McKinley put up 4 and Hayden Barnes and Aaron Abernathy rounded out the scoring with 3 apiece.

Lakeside (JG) 27, Texarkana 5

The junior Lady Rams (5-1) continued their run with Molly Reeves putting up 10 points in the win. Amelia Rogers put up 8, and eighth-grader Zakoria Wilson hit a big 3-pointer from the corner.

Lakeside will host El Dorado tonight.

Lakeside (7B) 36, Bethel 15

BRYANT — Beau Brock put up 22 points, including six 3-pointers to lead the seventh-grade Rams (6-0) past Bethel Saturday morning.

Javarious Russell put up 6 points, Caleb Rogers added 3, Daejuan Ellis and Jeremyah Evans had 2 each, and Doke Douglas rounded out the scoring with 1.

Lakeside will host Malvern Thursday at 5 p.m.

Bryant (VG) 42, Hot Springs 38

BRYANT — Hot Springs struggled in its first game using a shot clock, falling on the road to Bryant.

The Lady Trojans trailed Bryant 9-8 in the first quarter before finding their rhythm to take a 24-13 lead behind six 3-pointers by Jaylia Reed. Bryant recovered to outscore Hot Springs 29-14 in the second half for the win.

Reed finished with 25 points, including her six treys, and Jurnee Hicks had 9 points.

Fountain Lake (VB) 64, Mena 32

MENA — After trailing 11-4 at the end of the first quarter, Fountain Lake (8-1) found its rhythm to pull within 18-16 at the break Friday night. The Cobras outscored Mena 29-11 in the third to take a 45-28 lead before icing the win with a 19-4 fourth.

Landin Kizer led the Cobras with 17 points, and Tre McMellon led Mena with 12.

Fountain Lake will host Nashville Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Mena (VG) 56, Fountain Lake 46

MENA — The Lady Cobras (4-5) could not find their rhythm early enough as Mena cruised to a 10-point win Friday.

Mena jumped out to a 13-8 lead in the first eight minutes before stretching to a 30-19 lead at the break. Fountain Lake outscored the Lady Bearcats 17-12, but it was not enough as Mena finished out the game on a 14-10 run.

Presley Hamric led Fountain Lake with 19 points, Karli Bryant added 13, and Karlie Craver had 9.

Fountain Lake hosts Nashville Friday.
