Amy M.C. Gammill

Amy Michelle Cox Gammill, age 47, of Hot Springs, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at her home in Hot Springs. Her death came sudden and unexpected.

Amy was born Nov. 29, 1973, in West Memphis, Ark., and was the daughter of Phillip Cox and Kay Hill Cox. She moved to Hot Springs from Jonesboro in 2016, was a R. N. C. for the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hot Springs.

A tribute to the life of Amy Cox Gammill: My sweet Amy Cox Gammill has stepped into Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She believed that Jesus was the son of God, that he lived a sinless life, that he died on a cross for all our sins, that he rose three days later displaying his power over death and sin and now sits at the right hand of the father. She put her faith in Christ as a little girl. She placed her trust in me over 26 years ago to love her, submit to the Lord and lead our family. She helped me raise our four children in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord. I’m a better man because of the love she gave me. My children are better people because of the love she gave them. She worked nights for so many years so she could be with her babies. And they are better for it. She was working hard to complete her doctorate in nursing. Maybe too hard. Upon finding her this morning I’m not sure what happened, but my hope is in Jesus Christ. I know she is with him and I will see her again. Please pray for God’s peace and comfort for my kids and my precious in- laws, Phil and Kay Cox, who lost their other daughter, Emily, when Amy was in high school.

Amy married Dustan Gammill in 1994, and he survives her along with three sons; Jonathan Luke Gammill of Jonesboro, Benjamin David Gammill and Eli Jacob Gammill, both of the home, one daughter, Emily Faith Gammill of the home, and her parents; Phil and Kay Cox of Forrest City. She had one sister, Emily Rose Cox, who preceded her in death in 1991.

Services for Mrs. Gammill will be held at First Baptist Church in Forrest City, 11 a.m., Tuesday, with burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a. m. Tuesday, until the time of the service at the church.
