Lake resort sells for over $2 million; remodel planned
The Country Inn Lake Resort on Lake Hamilton sold for
$2.125 million, according to a deed filed earlier this month with the Garland County circuit clerk’s office.
Justin Muller confirmed he’s part of the group that bought the 1332 Airport Road property. The ownership group is remodeling the resort, he said.
Previous owner Shon Knabe said her husband, Charles, built the resort in the
1990s. It has 28 rooms and is open year-round. The appraisal company the county contracts to appraise properties for tax purposes valued the resort at $1.42 million.
The resort fronts Lake Hamilton in the Paradise Cove section of the lake, west of the Highway 70 west bridge. It’s beyond the Hot Springs city limits and not subject to the
3% tax the Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission levies on lodging facilities inside the city.
Pharmacy sells
Pharmacy chain Express Rx acquired the AllCare Oak Park Pharmacy earlier this month. Express paid $1.19 million for the 105 Sawtooth Oak St. location, according to property records. Express announced earlier this month that it had acquired seven AllCare pharmacies in Arkansas. The Hot Springs location was part of an acquisition that included locations in Heber Springs, Hope, Paris, Pine Bluff, Prescott and Trumann.
The acquisition gives Little Rock-based Express 30 locations in eight states across the Southeast.
“Since it was established, Express Rx has remained committed to enhancing access to high-quality health care services in the heartland,” CEO Galen Perkins said in a news release. “This acquisition will allow us to further expand offerings to customers throughout rural Arkansas.”
W. Percy Malone, a pharmacist and former state senator and representative, owns Arkadelphia-based AllCare.
