Lonsdale man charged after alleged attack on wife

- STEVEN MROSS

A Lonsdale man was arrested on a felony battery charge early Sunday after allegedly attacking his wife and possibly breaking her wrist.

Steven Lynn Harvey, 68, of 231 Duckhole Trail in Lonsdale, was taken into custody at his residence shortly after 3 a.m. and charged with second-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Harvey, who lists no prior criminal history, was being held on a zero bond and was set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly after 2 a. m. Sunday, Garland County sheriff’s Deputy Darrell Harmon was dispatched to the residence on Duckhole regarding a domestic disturbance that had already occurred.

He spoke to a woman,

61, who said she got into a “mutual scuffle” with her husband, identified as Harvey.

She said they got into the scuffle because she found “adult material” on his phone. She said she got upset and they both started screaming at each other and then got into a physical altercation where Harvey was the aggressor.

She said he punched her in the face and then pushed her to the ground, causing a potential break in her left wrist. She was also complaining of pain to her left cheek, but Harmon noted he did not notice an apparent visible injury.

Harvey had left the scene prior to Harmon’s arrival, but as the deputy was leaving Harvey drove back to the residence. Harmon noted Harvey had an abrasion on his nose and a small cut to his right big toe.

Harvey was taken into custody at that point without incident.
