GAC announces basketball Players of the Week
RUSSELLVILLE — SAU junior guard and forward Jalen Brooks and Southwestern Oklahoma State University sophomore forward Makyra Tramble were named the GAC’s men’s and women’s basketball players of the week for the week of Jan.
18. Tramble also received the honor last week.
Brooks, of Edmond, Okla., was instrumental in the Muleriders games against UAM, Arkansas Tech and Harding. Against the Boll Weevils, Brooks tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds as SAU managed to battle back from a 13-point deficit in the second half. Finishing with
25 points and a career high 14 boards in an 81-53 victory over Harding, Brooks also put up 18 points and 10 boards against the Wonder Boys.
Tramble, of Shawnee, Okla., led the Lady Bulldogs in wins over Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist. Shooting

9 for 21 from behind the arc, Tramble averaged a double-double of 19.7 points and 10.3 rebounds while adding a total of 11 steals, 10 assists and four blocks in the games.
For the women, Arkansas Tech guard Ashlei Lopez, Harding forward Sage Hawley, SAU forward Kisi Young, UAM guard Dezirae King, Southeastern Oklahoma State guard Katie Branam and East Central guard Kendall Shulte were also nominated.
