Joseph A. Davis Jr., age 94, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilita­tion Center in Berlin.

Born in Hot Springs, Ark., he was the son of the late Joseph A. Davis Sr. and Margaret Anne (Rookard) Davis. He lived in Hot Springs for most of his life and had recently moved with his wife to Ocean Pines, Md., to live with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchild­ren.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 76 years, Betty Jean Davis; son, Joseph A. Davis III and his wife, Andie Davis, as well as grandchild­ren, Jennifer Davis Beavers, Gideon Dean Plamondon and Marissa Jewel Davis, and three great-grandchild­ren.

Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed talking about the planes he serviced during the Korean War. He was the owner of Davis Piano Company in Hot Springs, Ark., until his retirement and a magnificen­t pianist. As an expert piano technician, he serviced many of the pianos in the hotels and music venues throughout the area and was the piano tuner for the famed Arlington Hotel for many years. Over the years, he was the piano tuner requested by many celebritie­s and was known for building unique stage pianos.

He was a lifelong member of the choir of St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church in Hot Springs, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

The family appreciate­s donations in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
