Kennedy A. Nida

-

Kennedy Ann Nida, age 16, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born on March 11, 2005, in Wichita, Kan. A giggly, smart and fun-loving girl, Kennedy was always the bright spot in the room, sharing her big heart with many friends, family and philanthropic ventures. A sophomore at Lakeside High School, she was an extremely bright student with an interest in sports medicine. She loved anything involving dance, going through a phase in life where she would more often stand on her head than her feet, and would rather tap her toes than stand in one place. Kennedy danced competitively for many years, enjoying tap as her dance of choice. She danced at Natural State Dance Company and taught classes to young dancers.

Children were drawn to her huge smile, playful spirit, constant giggle and patience. Kennedy loved to make people laugh with her constant jokes and had quite the competitive spirit in all activities, especially beating her twin brother Luke in games and building Legos with Landon.

Her favorite family time was spent at the lake, enjoying tubing, paddle boarding and wakeboarding. Kennedy spent her past six summers growing closer to Christ at her favorite place on earth, Brookhill Ranch. Here she developed friendships to last a lifetime. Kennedy was thrilled to be surrounded by animals, loving all kinds, especially her cat, Rhozie, dog, Lew, and Guinea pig, Stuart.

Kennedy was involved in the Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen Pageant program and truly lived by her platform, “Work For a Cause, Not Applause.” She tirelessly raised funds through many projects to support Arkansas Children’s Hospital, including sewing over

7,000 masks over the past year with her family. She was the two-time recipient of the ACH Miracle Maker Award. Kennedy was also a member of the 201920 ACHievers, and the 2020-21 class of American Heart Association Sweethearts of Hot Springs.

She is survived by her parents; brothers, Luke and Landon; and a multitude of amazing family, friends and members of the MAO sisterhood.

Open visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at Brookhill Ranch at 6 p.m. April 16, 2021. All are encouraged and welcome to attend.
