Ada C. G. Danhof

-

Ada Claire Glenn Danhof, 76, of Hot Springs, spent her final days at home surrounded by family, passing peacefully on March 9, 2021. Raised in Hot Springs by her late parents, Elmer and Ethel Bruce Glenn, Ada Claire was proud of her hometown, Scottish ancestry, faith and family.

A 1962 Hot Springs Trojan Graduate, Ada Claire enjoyed researching the history of Hot Springs, supporting the local arts, and rooting for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

After completing her Masters in Divinity at the Memphis Theological Seminary, Ada Claire was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister. She was a lover of justice, of peace, and of humanity, often enlisting others to her various causes whose goals were for a more equitable society. Her generosity of spirit, of laughter, and of heart were evident in her career choice and in the love which still surrounds her.

Ada Claire’s crocheting, cooking, decorating for the holidays, gardening, playing competitive Bridge, the occasional string of misplaced curse words — were only some of her creative outlets. She was never too far from music. Whether playing the piano, singing in the choir, humming a melody to a sleepy child or grandchild, music seemed to emanate from her. Even as her hospice chaplain played her home piano, Ada Claire directed the choir — hands high in the air — so no one missed a note.

The family would like to thank Dr. Roper, Nurse Becky, Arkansas Hospice Staff, and Ada Claire’s team of caregivers: Vanessa, Sharlene, Cheryl, and Leslie, for their care and kindness as she transitioned to her Heavenly home.

Ada Claire was preceded in death by her son, Eric John Russell; and grandchildren, Brandon Paul Norris and Lisa Nicole Norris.

Those who will miss her most are her husband, Andrew G. Danhof; sons, Samuel Mark Russell (Matt), Andrew G. Danhof Jr. and Brian Eric Danhof (Suzanne); daughters, Julia Beth Norris (Russ) and Carol Ann Cates (Tim); grandchildren, Philip, Bridgette, Isaac (Tonya), Drew, Elena and Ava; great-grandchildren, Evelynn and Bella; and church family at First Presbyterian and Westminster Presbyterian.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on May 22, 2021, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3819 Central Ave., Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jackson House, 705 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901; Humane Society of Garland County (https://hsgconline.org); or to the Alzheimer’s Association (https:// alz.org).
