Raye Lebow, 53, was taken into custody around 1 p.m. and charged with misdemeanor charges of fleeing in a vehicle, punishable by up to one year in jail, and was cited for speeding, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, careless and prohibited driving and no proof of insurance.

She was being held on a $1,000 bond and was set to appear Wednesday in Garland County District Court.

Lebow was previously arrested on Aug. 5, 2014, in Garland County on a felony charge of fleeing in a vehicle, but the charge was later amended to a misdemeanor and she pleaded no contest on April 15, 2015, and was sentenced to one year in jail, all suspended, and six months’ probation.

According to the probable cause affidavit on Tuesday’s arrest, around 12:30 p.m., sheriff’s Cpl. Jon Lane was dispatched to Highway 270 at the Garland County/Montgomery County line to look for a black 2012 Chevy Traverse being sought for a gas drive-off and unauthorized use of a vehicle out of Montgomery County.

He spotted the vehicle eastbound in the 6800 block of Highway 270 just east of Gillham Road traveling “at a high rate of speed” and activated his lights and siren to make a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as Lebow, refused to stop.

Lane noted the vehicle reached speeds over 120 mph and passed several vehicles on the double yellow line “almost striking two oncoming vehicles.” He was finally able to box the vehicle in around the 3500 block of Highway 270 and force Lebow to stop.

Lebow was taken into custody without further incident and has a hold on her out of Montgomery County on the charges there in addition to the charges filed in Garland County.
