I wanted to do something that I enjoyed.” Guests are welcome to visit with the gallery artists.

Artists’ Workshop Gallery 610-A Central Ave.

Artists’ Workshop Gallery plans to open its doors for Gallery Walk today “assuming favorable pandemic data continues.”

April’s featured artists are two Hot Springs Village seasoned artists, June Lamoureux and Sheliah Halderman.

Lamoureux moved to Arkansas from Connecticut in 2011. “Her popular works appear in many collections, both nationally and locally. She works primarily in watercolor, acrylic and pen and ink, and has won awards in all three mediums. Her art has included commissions for companies and individuals on a wide range of subjects. In her Featured Artist exhibit, June will be showing works in acrylic and watercolor. All are paintings she has created in the past six months and are peaceful scenes, rest for the weary,” a news release said.

Lamoureux has taught drawing and painting for many years to both children and adults. She is a member of Brush Strokes Art Club in Hot Springs Village and Traditional Art Guild in Hot Springs. Halderman was a teacher for 22 years and moved to Arkansas from Indiana after her retirement. Since then, she has devoted her energies full-time to her art. She began painting in oils but has since expanded into other mediums, especially pastels.

“Sheliah finds her inspiration from the beautiful Arkansas landscape and from her travels throughout the U.S. Her paintings have won many local and national awards,” it said. She will be showing numerous new works in pastel, spanning a variety of subjects. An accomplished jewelry designer, in addition to painter, she says creating artwork or jewelry “fulfills my need to express myself. It fills my soul with a sense of accomplishment.” She is a signature member of the Arkansas Pastel Society, Brush Strokes and the Arkansas Artists Registry.
