Linda Marie Clark, 71, or Hot Springs, peacefully transition­ed to her eternal home on March

30, 2021. She was born June 15,

1949, to O.C. and Leola Gillespie. Linda was a graduate of Langston High School in Hot Springs and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Philander Smith College, where she met her husband, Marion Clark. The two were wedded in 1973 and enjoyed 33 years of marriage. Later in life, Linda earned a certificat­e in Early Childhood Education from National Park Community College.

Linda taught school in the Little Rock School District for many years. After the loss of her husband, Linda relocated to Hot Springs to be closer to family. She worked as a substitute teacher in the Hot Springs School District and ultimately became a preschool teacher at First Step Inc., a developmen­tal treatment center for children and adults with developmen­tal disabiliti­es, for 15 years. She retired in 2019. She was a member of Trinity Church in Hot Springs for over 10 years and enjoyed worshiping and serving God’s people through the ministry. She was a faithful member of her Sunday School class and Widows Group.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, O.C and Leola Gillespie; her husband, Marion Clark; and three brothers, O.C. Gillespie Jr., Eugene Gillespie and Clarence Gillespie.

She leaves to cherish her memories four sisters, Ora Mae Gillespie of Louisville, Ky., Josephine Reddick, Mary Jean Gillespie and Talley Gillespie, all of Hot Springs; two brothers, Earnest Gillespie of Missouri and David (Gloria) Gillespie of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; a special niece and nephew, Tammy (Kevin) Blevins-Jones and Corey (Sarah) Jenkins; and special great-nieces and -nephew, Alexus Raymo, Revena Christon and Taylor Powell; and a greatgreat-niece, T’Anna “Miss Pretty Girl” Powell. A host of extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021. The visitation will be one hour before the service at Trinity Church, 630 Panama St., Hot Springs, Ark.
