Junior Cotillion Advisory Board named

The National League of Junior Cotillions-Hot Springs Chapter’s director, Susan Humphries, has announced the 202122 Advisory Board.

Members of the board are Mrs. John Bridges (Kira), Mrs. Blake Condley (Tess), Mrs. Fred Divers (Shelby), Mrs. Hoye Gober, Jr. (Mandie), Mrs. Mike Hernandez (Susan), Mrs. Clay Janske (Christy), Mrs. Donald Kindt (Suzanne), Arica Lynchard, Mrs. Jimmy Markowski (Ashley), Mrs. Brian Paullus (Heather), Mrs. Hans Pullen (Rachael), Mrs. Jason Risner (Brandy), Mrs. Stacy Roberts (Kendra), Mrs. Matthew Sarver (Leslie), Mrs. Larry Stidman (Kristin), Mrs. Greg Taylor (Jennifer), and Mrs. Rudy Villines (Haley).

“I would like to publicly thank these wonderful parents for their positive support of the Junior Cotillion program,” Humphries said.

The Junior Cotillion program begins its 29th season in September. Cotillion, which features etiquette and social dance training for sixththrough eighth-grade boys and girls, includes five classes and one semiformal ball, beginning in September.

“Emphasizing etiquette and self-confidence skills, topics taught include polite conversation, greeting skills, proper introductions, first impression skills, interaction in groups, receiving lines, paying and receiving compliments, acknowledgment of gifts, sportsmanship, table manners, telephone courtesy, coats and doors, and other areas of social behavior. Social skills and dance instruction are presented in an upbeat way to keep the children’s interest,” the release said.

“Our objective is to teach the lifestyles that will enable students to learn to treat others with honor, dignity, and respect, for better relationships with family, friends, and associates. Self-confidence comes from knowing the right way of doing things,” Humphries said.

Registration for any interested sixth-, seventh- or eighthgrade child in the county area will be held in May for the 20212022 season.

“Membership is by invitation. However, the purpose of the invitation is to make it special to the child; it is not to exclude anyone. With the new privacy laws and cellphones, it is becoming more difficult to obtain addresses. Therefore, if a parent is interested, all that is necessary is an email with the child’s name, current school and grade, and address to susan.humphries@nljc.com,” Humphries said.

“We are eager to begin another season of Junior Cotillion classes,” she said.
