Donna “Kaye” Crossland, 71, of Hot Springs, went to sleep on Sunday, March 28, 2021, and woke up with Jesus and her beloved husband, Richard. She was born April 18, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Hulon and Bernice (Agee) Lewis.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her big brother Robert Weldon Lewis.

Kaye is survived by her sons, Michael Lewis, David Tiner: Sister, Mary (Edward) Koester: Sister-in-law, Brenda Lewis: Adopted daughters, Jamie Reynolds Farrer (Robert), Kathy Gallagher, Melinda Richardson, Sara Waits (Brett), Brandy Bertog Phillips (Cody): Grandchildren, Chance Weatherford, Katie Weatherford, Maddy Farrer, Hunter Farrer, Dalton Waits, Halie Bertog, GraceAnn Bertog, Ty Bertog, Sophie Bertog, Breanna Farrer: Great-grandchild, Sawyer Bruce.

She also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and friends that she loved beyond measure.

Kaye held many titles over the years. She drove a food truck in Memphis, a school bus, managed a go-kart track and was even an over-the-road truck driver at one point, but most people in Hot Springs will remember her as the owner/operator of World of Video.

She also had a passion for rescuing animals. It was not unusual to walk into the video store and find her feeding baby squirrels, birds, a hurt raccoon or even a skunk named Pepe’ Le Pew. If that didn’t shock the patrons enough, they had to be careful of the toddlers running through the store playing cowboys and Indians.

The video store was also a safe haven for countless people that she always seemed to be taking in as her family and counseling. She adopted all the strays; two legs or four legs, it didn’t make a difference to her. But no matter what new adventure she found herself in, she would always say that her favorite titles were Mom and Grammy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Cox officiating. A gathering at her residence will follow. All family and friends are invited to attend. Please contact Jamie or Kathy for details.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Garland County Humane Society at http://hsgconline.org.
