Cleve A. Bond

Cleve Arden Bond was born Jan. 25, 1930, to Lawrence Bond and Leatrice Breashears Bond. He grew up in Bismarck, Ark., and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1948. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951, serving in Germany, England and finishing his service at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, in Oklahoma in 1955. Using the GI Bill to attend college at Southern State College in Magnolia, Ark., starting 1958, transferri­ng to The University of Arkansas in Fayettevil­le, Ark., in 1959, and graduating

1961 with his Electrical Engineerin­g Degree.

He started working for Internatio­nal Paper Company in Moss Point, Miss., in 1961, then to Hover Die casting in Malvern, Ark., in 1968. In 1974, he went to work for General Cable in Hot Springs, Ark., then to Anthony Timberland­s in Bearden, Ark., in 1976, until he retired in 1992. Where he started his own company in

1992, GEM Inc., with his son Bryan, where they closed the company in 1998.

He was a member of Charity Heights Baptist Church in Hot Spring, Ark.

Cleve is survived by his son, Bryan Bond, daughter-inlaw Gwen; grandsons, Bradley and Justyn and granddaugh­ter, Brittany and her husband Justin Pulley, they had his only great-grandson, Carter. He is also survived by his brothers, A.J. Bond his wife Lavern, Paul Bond and wife Pat and his sister, Velzene Burroughs.

Cleve was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Clarice McClard, and his companion, Juanita Bishop.

Visitation will be at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay St., Arkadelphi­a, AR 71923 starting at 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021.

Roy E. Crane

ROYAL — Roy Edward Crane, 74, of Royal, Ark., passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021.

Per Roy’s request, there will be no memorial service.

Memorials may be made to one of the area’s animal shelters.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Johnny R. Davies Jr.

Johnny Roy Davies Jr. (Pluck), age 48, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away unexpected­ly on April 4, 2021.

He was born Feb. 15, 1973, in Lake Village, Ark., to Johnny Roy Davies Sr. and Delilah Loyd-Davies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Jacqueline Davies.

Johnny graduated from Lakeside High School in Lake Village in 1993. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Hot Springs, Ark., in 1995. He had various jobs. Johnny had a love for people. In 1997, Johnny met Dionne Haire, they exchange their vows in 2000 and became one.

He is survived by his wife: Dionne Davies of Hot Springs; brother: Wayne “Wolf” Loyd of Lake Village; sister: Tawanda Culp of Lake Village; daughters: Mindy Acker of Hot Springs, Shawndre McGhee of Little Rock, Jnae Davies of Hot Springs, Jantaria Davies of Hot Springs, Eunique Guy of Hot Springs and Evonne Haire of Hot Springs; sons: Karlton Haire of Hot Springs, Kristerfer Haire of Hot Springs; his bonus sons, Taylor Cunningham of Camden, Ike Harrison of Lake Village. His special friends, Latoya Pickney and Shelita Ballard.

The visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Service.

Linda Y. Henthorn

PEARCY — Linda Y. Henthorn, 71, of Pearcy, Ark., passed away April 7, 2021.

John Plyler

John Plyler, 88, of Hot Springs, Ark., joined his late wife and soul mate, Grace Plyler, on April 4, 2021. “Burr,” as he was affectiona­tely known by his family, was born June 2, 1932, in Mount Ida, Ark., to the late John and Alice (Irons) Plyler. He was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church.

Burr was a natural athlete and a proud member of the Hot Springs High School football team. He also enjoyed coaching little league football. In later years, he was a force to be reckoned with on the tennis court, winning many games through sheer endurance.

Burr is survived by his sons, T.J. (Laura) Plyler, Mickey (Donna) Plyler and Dennis J. Plyler; grandchild­ren, Andrew (Lauren) Plyler, Teresa Plyler, Jason Plyler, Miranda (Eric) Redman, Mikia (Gaylon) Kilcrease, Micah (Jeremy) Diggs; great-grandchild­ren, Chase Plyler, Brylea Mercer, Judah Diggs, Evie Kate Diggs, Shelby Kilcrease and Plyler Oseguera; niece, Cindy McJunkins Sims (Randall); and a great-niece, Skylar Trammel.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with a celebratio­n of Burr’s life immediatel­y following at 2 p.m.

Diane Robbins

Diane Robbins, 76, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021.

Graveside committal services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Mazarn Chapel Cemetery, near Bonnerdale. Visitation will be that afternoon at 1 p.m. preceding the 2 p.m. memorial service at First Baptist Church, Hot Springs.

Stephanie A. Shell

Stephanie Ann Shell (Mann), born June 6, 1996, passed away April 5, 2021.

She was survived by her husband, Cameron Shell; her mother, Michelle Casteel; her father, Patrick Mann; sisters, Jennifer York (Casteel) and Brittany Clark; nieces and nephews, Scottie McKellar, Kaylie Boring, Jesse McKellar, Eli Boring, Casynn Garcia, Corbin Young, Ari Westbrook, Robert and Serenity York; many more family members.

She was loved by many people and will be greatly missed by all. She was the most beautiful person, caring person in the world.
