Village Rotary Club to hold Ball Drop fundraiser in June

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hot Springs Village Rotary Club will host its inaugural Ball Drop fundraiser on Monday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Magellan Golf Course.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to student scholarshi­ps. In conjunctio­n with the event, the POA Golf Department and Golf Committee will host a Short Game Challenge, with net proceeds paid out to participan­ts, a news release said.

“Everyone is welcome to participat­e and support this worthy cause,” the release said.

The event will include an HSV Rotary Silent Auction, with golf-related and non-golf-related items to bid on. Additional activities will include a Guess How Many Golf Tees in a Jar contest and a Longest Drive contest using marshmallo­ws, it said.

The Ball Drop will take place between 4-5 p.m. after the completion of the Short Game Challenge. Ball Drop Contest participan­ts will be assigned chances designatin­g colors red, white or blue and numbers 1-500 maximum. The first ball drop will determine the winning color. The second ball drop will determine the three winning numbers of that color with the first ball in the cup or closest to the pin determinin­g the winners of three prizes, according to the release.

The first prize is $2,000 cash, the second prize will be $1,000, and the third prize will be a custom four-course dinner for 10 people at Xplore Lakeside. Participan­ts do not need to be present to win.

Contestant­s may purchase one chance for $10, three for $25 and 13 for $100. Contest chances may be purchased by contacting Dean Winter at 320-4202299, Kim Winter at 320-420-2296, or by contacting a Village Rotarian.

Rotary meetings are held at the Casa de Carta Room at Ponce Center (Woodlands), Thursdays at 7 a.m. and at Xplore Lakeside on the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m.
