CROWE, SCHMITT COMPETE AT STATE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Emma Crowe and Aubrey Schmitt recently competed at the 2021 Arkansas State Swimming Championships at Melvin Ford Aquatic Center in Bentonville.
Crowe, 15 and a sophomore swimmer for Lakeside, competed in the 15 year old and up division finishing second in the 200meter backstroke (2:31.15), fifth in the 100meter backstroke (1:09.10) and eighth in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:23.50) and 200meter individual medley (2:32.42). Crowe dropped 2.14 seconds from her personal best in the IM and dropped 0.66 seconds in her best performance in the 100-meter freestyle (1:02.84).
Crowe was the anchor on the fourth-place 200-meter freestyle relay team and sixthplace 400-meter freestyle relay team. She also swam the breaststroke leg of the fourthplace 200-meter medley relay team.
Schmitt, 11 and a sixth-grader at Lake Hamilton, competed in the 11-12 year old division. She finished third in the 100-meter butterfly (1:16.69) and 50-meter butterfly (34.94), fourth place in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:34.78), fifth place in the 400-meter freestyle (5:22.15) and 50-meter breaststroke (42.96) and seventh in the 200-meter IM (2:53.25). Schmitt dropped 0.71 seconds off her best in the 100-meter butterfly, 0.14 seconds in the 100-meter breaststroke, 16.86 seconds in the 400-meter freestyle and 1.39 seconds in the 50-meter breaststroke to improve her personal bests.
Schmitt was also a member of the fifthplace 200-meter freestyle relay team, sixthplace 400-meter relay team and swam the butterfly leg in the 200-meter medley relay that finished sixth.
