Bridge Street LIVE! series continues with Templeton concert
Country music star Glen Templeton will perform a free public concert on Friday as the Bridge Street LIVE! series of performances is extended into September, Visit Hot Springs said in a news release.
There will also be square dancing in the street led by Levi’s & Lace Square Dancing Club.
The performances are part of the Bridge Street LIVE! series that began in June in the city’s new Bridge Street Entertainment District.
The free concerts and entertainment events are sponsored by Visit Hot Springs.
The district opens at 5 p.m. Square dancing with a caller on the microphone and audience participation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Templeton will take the stage at 7 p.m.
Food, drink, arts and community vendors will be on site.
Templeton, a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., is known for such country hits as “I Could Be the One,” “Sing That Song Again” and “Ball Cap,” according to a biography provided by Visit Hot Springs.
The Bridge Street LIVE! entertainment will continue on Sept. 24, with a return engagement by the Memphis Soul Revue, “which was a hit in the June Bridge Street LIVE! series,” the release said.
KUHS DJ Terrence will be spinning house music that evening, and National Electric Car Week will bring in some electric cars for the public to check out.
The new entertainment district guidelines allow patrons who are at least 21 years old to freely walk the district with beer, wine or alcoholic spirits.
The Bridge Street LIVE! events will be confined to an area immediately surrounding Bridge Street that does not include the west side of Central Avenue, the release said.
