Karen S. Pinkston was born on Oct. 15, 1949, to Freeman E. and Reva (Southern) Loy. Our angel gained her wings on Sept. 5, 2021. She is already missed by so many.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steve Loy; and sister, Denise Noles.

Survivors include her loving husband of 20 years, Robert “Bob” Pinkston, who treated her like a queen; a special fur-baby, Jenny; daughters, Lisa Stanford (Lem), Danielle Mccarty (Dennis); son, Rob Pinkston (Melody); brothers, Wayne Loy (Christy), Tommy Loy, Earl Loy; and sister, Dina Hunt (Daniel). Although Karen had no biological children, she so enjoyed spending time with a special niece, Tina Vaughn; grandchild­ren, Ashleigh Lee, Kara Roberson, Morgan Greeson, Taylor Hackney, Shelby Greeson, Kyle Pinkston, Aaron Pinkston; seven great-grandchild­ren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Karen loved her family fiercely and as the oldest of seven kids, she was the protector, and without a doubt, the aggravator.

She loved to cook, especially with the girls at Christmas. She also loved flowers and gardening. Karen will always be remembered as a loving, sweet, funny soul that loved fully!

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-hale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of Karen’s life will be 10 a.m. Monday in Caruth-hale Funeral Home chapel.

Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s include Daniel Hunt, Danny Vaughn, Dennis Mccarty, John Hackney, Benny Strickland and Danny Pardue.

Honorary pallbearer­s include the staff at CHI St. Vincent ICU and special friend, Maria Milam.
