Celebrate National 4-H Week

- Carol Ann McAfee GC Extension

National 4-H Week is underway and runs through Saturday. This year’s theme is “Find your Spark!” This is an important week to highlight the remarkable 4-H youths in our communities and showcase the incredible experiences that 4-H offers young people. 4-H was founded on the belief that when kids are empowered to pursue their passions and chart their own course, their unique skills grow and take shape, helping them to become true leaders in their lives, careers, and communities. I invite all of you to celebrate National 4-H

Week with Garland County 4-H.

Today — Media Monday!

Share a post, picture, or video on social media that tells all about your 4-H experiences! Use the hashtags #AR4H #FindYourSpark and tag @ arkansas4h in your posts.

Tuesday — Healthy Living Tuesday

Take your Tuesday to make sure you are living healthily — physically, mentally, socially, just all around! Check out the Arkansas 4-H YouTube channel for some Yoga flow ideas or 4-H Yoga mediation. Plan a walk or hike with your 4-H Club or test out a new recipe. The options are endless! Share how you stay healthy by using hashtags #AR4H #FindYourSpark and tag @arkansas4h in your posts.

Wednesday — 4-H Spirit Day!

Show your 4-H pride and wear the Clover. Wear green today! Have a 4-H mask? Be sure to wear it! All 4-Hers, volunteer leaders, and anyone involved in Garland County 4-H are encouraged to post pictures or videos on social media showing off your 4-H Spirit; make sure to use the hashtags #AR4H #FindYourSpark and tag @ arkansas4h in the post!

Thursday — Find Your Science on Thursday! Whether intensive and time-consuming or a really simple experiment — test out one of the many AR 4-H “Find Your Science” experiments by viewing the AR 4-H Snacks x Science playlist on the Arkansas 4-H YouTube Channel.

Friday — Donor & Supporter’s Recognition Day!

4-H’ers can write thank you notes, mail them pictures, or post pictures on social media of the past year’s 4-H highlights. Tell them “thanks” for being a friend to 4-H. If you post on social media, make sure that you tag your donors & supporters; then use the hashtags #AR4H #FindYourSpark and tag @arkansas4h as well! If you showed livestock at the Garland County Fair, be sure to send you a thank-you note to your club leader, an adult that may have helped you during the week, and your premium sale buyer.
