Eric Schatzl

-

Eric Christopher Schatzl, a resident of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 7, 2022, at the age of 34. He was employed at Window Mart in Royal, Ark., and was an Army veteran.

Eric was born in Lebanon, N.H., to Kurt and Tina Schatzl on May 15, 1987. He graduated from Lakeside High School and received an associates degree from National Park College.

Eric was a devoted father and always found his greatest joy in hanging out with his children. He enjoyed listening to and singing Irish folk music. Eric had a very witty sense of humor (he got that talent from his dad) and passed it on to his daughter Lucy and his son Leif, and he always had a joke to tell. He was a prolific reader and loved to write.

Eric was a great cook and loved cooking things with his children. He always aspired to do great things in life and to always be a better person.

Eric will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jack Schatzl, of Cape Cod, Mass., and Mildred Emily Barnes, of Weymouth, Mass.

Eric is survived by his parents, Kurt and Tina Schatzl, of Hot Springs, Ark.; his children, Lucy Simone Schatzl of Hot Springs, Ark., and Leif Erickson Schatzl of Pearcy, Ark.; his brothers, Robert Gill III of West Memphis, Ark., and Steven Schatzl of Hot Springs, Ark.; his paternal grandfather, L.Q. and Louise Hardin of Tyronza, Ark., and his maternal grandmother, Goldie Peeler of Royal, Ark.

A visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Caruth Life Celebration Center, 2529 Airport Road. A service will follow at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Dennis Anderson of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Pearcy, Ark., will officiate.

With the current spike in COVID infections, a visitation may not seem practical for some. Please know that the family completely understands this and appreciates your love and support from afar.
