HS Toastmasters to meet Saturday

-

Hot Springs Toastmasters Club 7643 will hold its annual spring speech contests for 2022 at 8 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene, 3804 Central Ave., and via Zoom.

“This involves International Speech and Evaluation categories. Winners, or a possible club president assigned representative in the case of one participant in a given category, will be eligible to proceed to the District 43, Area A, area contest on March 12, and potentially further to the division and district levels,” a news release said.

There is a Zoom option for members and visitors who can’t attend. Members are asked to check in with Nancy Britt, vice president of education, regarding eligibility or to serve in support roles.

Potential competitors who have not yet signed up are also asked to respond.

“Members, also remember people you know who could benefit from Toastmasters and invite them too. They might even be intrigued by how a contest works,” the release said.

In-person participants are encouraged to bring or wear a mask.

If attendance is high enough, a larger room is available. Easy access is available at the back of the church building, off Files Road.

There is no charge to attend and see what the club is about. Meetings normally are one hour long.
