Woman who allegedly fired shot at boyfriend arrested
A local woman was arrested on a felony warrant late Wednesday stemming from allegations she drove by her boyfriend’s house in January and shot at him as he stood at the front door.
Lori Lynette Schooley, 48, who lists a Westover Street address, was taken into custody shortly before 11:30 p.m. following a traffic stop at Summer Street and West Grand Avenue and served with a warrant for committing a terroristic act, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Schooley, who was also cited for driv- ing a vehicle with no registration, remained in custody Thursday on a zero bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court. She lists no prior felony history but was arrested on July 28, 2021, on a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm in the city limits. The charge was later withdrawn.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Jan. 28, shortly before 1 p.m., Hot Springs police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Baffenridge Street regarding shots fired.
Officers spoke to the male resident, who stated that a known suspect, identified as Schooley, whom he had been “romantically involved with” for about three years, had driven by his house in her tan Chevrolet Malibu.
He said he was standing at the front door of his residence when he saw her drive by a second time. As she passed by, he alleges she pointed a small firearm out the window and fired it, striking the front of the residence.
After further investigation, a warrant for Schooley’s arrest was issued on Feb. 8.
