EARTH ANGEL

-

Recycled plastic bottles, once sorted, are baled and sent to reclaiming facilities, where they are cleaned, washed and ground into flakes. Once the flakes are dried, melted, filtered and formed into pellets, they are sent to a manufacturer to be heated and remolded into new products.

The new products include car parts, durable plastic lumber for outdoor decks and benches, fibers for packaging, clothing and carpeting, playground equipment, reusable kitchenware, such as food containers, cutting boards and utensils, and storage containers.

The city of Hot Springs Solid Waste Department offers free curbside recycling through the Earth Angel Recycling Program, which allows recycled goods to be collected, every other week, at no charge.

For more information about the Earth Angel Recycling Program, call the Solid Waste Department at 501321-6911 or sign up at http://www. cityhs.net/recycle-registration.
